Recent projects

I bought some cute vinyl from a designer that had leftover from an upholstery job, and made some card case wallets. Zippies coming up next!

And I am mostly done with a pair of socks (just need to do the second heel), knit toe up with an afterthought heel, knit two at a time using a long circular (magic loop.) Got a little bit of laddering, maybe using a longer circular than what I was using would improve the next pair. Trying to use up yarn in my stash. Pattern is Vanilla Socks (Toe Up & Afterthought Heel) Ravelry link

Also helping work on a project for a SXSW client. Weather has been amazing, temperate after a few cold days, but it’s going to rain over the weekend/next week, wrapping up some painting and staining outdoors.

New bigger Star Flap bag!

Made a bigger Star Flap bag, purple measures 7”x8”x2 1/2”, new blue one is 11”x9 1/2”x3 1/2”. Blue bag has an extra interior pocket. Both have adjustable webbing straps so you can wear them crossbody if you wish, pen pockets on the gusset and back shelf pocket, and interior pockets, magnet snaps and snap tabs. There’s a change or two I want to make on the next one I make, but overall pretty happy with it, ready to road-test it, taking notes. I make all my own patterns and have been meaning to make a bigger version, got it done today!

I’ve been sewing like the wind in preparation for the Blue Genie Art Bazaar 2019! It’s a great show, starting a little earlier this year November 22nd thru December 24th, you should check it out!

New flap bags!

Productive weekend in studio, made some flap bags with adjustable straps, and magnet snaps! Finished these in time to avoid the rain 🙂 Preparing for Blue Genie Art Bazaar, November 24-December 24.

I had a bag of similar size in olive canvas I used for years, which finally wore out after 15+ years, and I realized since I found this size/bag so useful, it might work well for others. There is a back shelf pocket, a pen pocket in the side gusset, a patch pocket inside on the lining, and the strap is adjustable (from 50″ to 30″) so you could wear it on a shoulder or cross-body, and so it would fit people of different sizes. There is a snap tab at the top of main compartment, and two magnet snaps to close the flap. I’ve worked out the pattern after making a few, so I’ll be making more asap. Road-testing one now to make sure I’m happy with design.
